We’re keen to be as green as possible and we’re committed to driving sustainable change and reducing carbon emissions in our region. We’ve been supporting local authorities by providing tools to help them quantify carbon reduction and test out interventions.

Carbon baseline and forecasting tool
With over 45 interventions and a baseline of 2019, the tool allows for calculating decarb trajectories based the 5 lever settings per local transport authority, reflecting the intensity of each intervention.

STB decarbonisation policy playbook
An online tool, used by all STBs that quantifies carbon reduction. In addition to what the Carbon Baseline and Forecasting tool does, the playbook further disaggregates the emissions data by place type (9 place types).
The Playbook has four key components:
1. Report 0 summarising bespoke baseline information for each local transport authority, tailored around QCR reporting requirements
2. Baseline dashboard –a link to the corresponding dashboard developed by each STB (in PowerBI or similar) to interrogate their baseline emissions model
3. Intervention cards – summarising characteristics, impacts and co-benefits of each intervention within the Playbook
4. Policy builder – enabling development of user-defined policy packages that combine different interventions in different locations, presenting quantification of resultant impacts against underlying baseline.
