As regions across the UK grapple with growing interdependent challenges such as housing provision, climate change, and competing demands on land, the need for a coordinated, evidence-based approach to transport and land use planning is becoming increasingly urgent. We will be taking an active role in supporting our authorities and stakeholders with these challenges by: 

• Creating a new RCoE website for approved access to share best practices and any useful information  

• Develop a regional spatial planning tool to bring together geographic data, planning policy considerations and an assessment of connectivity to essential services into a single, accessible platform to guide allocation and assessment of potential sites for new housing within our region. 

• Produce various guidance for authorities including Interchange and Social Value, establishing common standards across the region.
