Regional Centre of Excellenc
We are pleased to be working with Homes England, National Highways, Active Travel England and other key stakeholders this financial year to consider best locations for new housing developments – and ensure the current transport infrastructure will meet the increased demand (especially along key corridors such as the M5). Check back for more information as things develop.
Regional Centre of Excellence
As regions across the UK grapple with growing interdependent challenges such as housing provision, climate change, and competing demands on land, the need for a coordinated, evidence-based approach to transport and land use planning is becoming increasingly urgent. We will be taking an active role in supporting our authorities and stakeholders with these challenges by:
- Creating a new RCoE website for approved access to share best practices and any useful information
- Develop a regional spatial planning tool to bring together geographic data, planning policy considerations and an assessment of connectivity to essential services into a single, accessible platform to guide allocation and assessment of potential sites for new housing within our region.
- Produce various guidance for authorities including Interchange and Social Value, establishing common standards across the region.
