Just two years into our 30-year long joint South West Freight Strategy with Peninsula Transport, we’re delighted to reveal that three-quarters of the interventions recommended in it have already been progressed.
At the July meeting of our Western Gateway Board, we welcomed three new members, elected our new Chair and Vice Chair and were pleased to approve our Business Plan for 2024/25.
This month we were proud to be official partners for Better Transport Week, enjoyed some green commutes to the office, and have been out and about at the Great Western Railway and Campaign for Better Transport conferences. Plus we have an update on our work on electric vehicles.
We’re delighted to launch our long-term Strategic Transport Plan 2024-2050 this month. We’ve also published our Electric Vehicle Charging Study and held our second – and first in-person – coach forum. Plus National Highways hosted us on a visit to the A417 Missing Link scheme works.
Glorious sunshine welcomed the launch of Community Rail Week at Yatton station on Monday. The week’s activities are shining a spotlight on the lesser-known community side of the railway and promoting its benefits at a national and local level.
Today Western Gateway Sub-national Transport Body (STB) launches its long-term Strategic Transport Plan, setting out the region’s transport priorities from now until 2050.
