Western Gateway secures Department of Transport funding
On 6th August 2020, the Transport Minister Baroness Vere wrote to us to confirm a conditional grant of £425k to support the development and delivery of our transport strategy and other core functions.
The funding received will enable our STB to continue developing an evidence led investment plan, driven by a Transport Strategy which has political and business support from across the region.
The £425k funding secured from the DfT will contribute towards area studies in the Western Gateway area this financial year (2020-2021) on Decarbonisation, Strategic Corridor Studies, Alternative Fuels and on a Strategic Bus and Coach Strategy.
