Our third Coach forum
Did you know, we’re the only sub-national transport body to host a Coach forum? Every few months, we bring together a wide range of stakeholders from across Western Gateway STB region and beyond, to discuss the industry and look at how we can improve elements like connectivity, accessibility, decarbonisation, facilities and user information.
Our next coach forum will take place on Tuesday 22nd October, virtually, and will focus on the feasibility study from the Cheltenham to Bristol Corridor. We’ll also take a look at where we are now with the strategy. Last month, 27 coach forum members were given a taste of the aircraft industry, as we held our meeting at Bristol Aerospace. Following an exciting look at Concorde and a sweep of the museum, members gathered together to hear from a range of speakers. This included Barclay Davies OBE (Bus Users UK), who gave a presentation on the importance of coach use from a user’s perspective, and Geoff Clarke (AECOM) who gave an overview of the South West Coach Strategy. Members were split into several groups, where they were given a list of 32 interventions and asked to prioritise 10. This prompted lively discussion and innovative ideas.
